What’s going on?

Scientists are still trying to understand why people see different colours in the same image.

One theory is if your brain thinks the photo was taken indoors, in more yellow light, the dress looks blue and black. If your brain thinks it was taken outdoors, where the light is more blue, you see white and gold.

Our brains seem to make use of both the light all around and the light coming from the thing itself.

Even if we look at exactly the same thing, we sometimes see things differently to other people.
